Peanut Butter Heart Cookies Recipe
This is one of our families favorite Valentine cookies. The kids love to help by unwrapping (and eating) all of the chocolates! These are the perfect little Valentine treat to box up for neighbor and teachers.
What You Need:
1 cup unsalted butter (softened)
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
3 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
Sugar for rolling
48 Dove Hearts (milk or dark chocolates)
How To:
1) Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2) Unwrap Dove hearts.
3) In a mixing bowl cream unsalted butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar.
4) Add peanut butter and mix.
5) Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each one. Add vanilla.
6) Add flour, baking soda and salt until well combined but do NOT over mix.
7) Shape dough into 1” balls and roll in sugar.
8) Place on nonstick baking sheet.
9) Refrigerate for 30 to 45 minutes.
10) Bake 9-10 minutes.
11) As soon as the cookies are pulled from the oven, press the heart into the center of the cookies.
12) Allow cookies to cool completely to hold the ‘heart’ shape.
