Thick & Chewy M&M Bars Recipe

These are one of my favorite treats. They are so easy; you don’t even need to dirty a mixer! I love making these for holidays and adding festive M&Ms depending on the season, but you can also substitute chocolate chips to make chocolate chip cookie bars.

What You Need:

  • 2 1/8 cups flour

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 12 TBSPs unsalted butter (1 1/2 sticks), melted and cooled

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 2 tsp vanilla

  • 1 - 12oz bag Valentine M&Ms, divided

How To:

1. Preheat the oven to 325. Spray a 9x13 baking pan with nonstick baking spray.

2. Mix flour, salt, baking soda together; set aside. Whisk the slightly cooled melted butter and sugars in a large bowl. Add the slightly whisked eggs and vanilla. Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients. Don’t over-mix! Add 1 cup of the Valentine M&Ms. Add the batter into the 9x13 pan, smoothing the top. Add the M&Ms on top!

3. Bake until the bars are slightly brown 25-28 minutes, don’t over bake! Let the bars completely cool before cutting into squares. Enjoy!
